My Current Drugstore Favourites!

Hello my lovelies!

So a week or two ago, I mentioned on my Instagram that I was considering doing a drugstore favourites blog post. So, after paying close attention to the makeup bits I’ve been LOVING this past month or so, I now have the perfect selection to share with you all.🖤

Now don’t get me wrong, I love a high-end product. A lot of my key makeup products are high-end and I don’t mind paying a high price for something that’s good. But a few new staple items of mine are almost three quarters of the price of one high-end item. Who doesn’t love a bargain?

The products I’m going to feature are ones I’m really loving most recently – so a few of my other drugstore products, (Rimmel Stay Matte – I’m sorry boo!) won’t be shown.

Without further ado – lets get straight into it!

I Heart Revolution Rose Gold Glow Palette

First of all, can we just take a minute to appreciate how freaking gorgeous the packaging is!? I love metallic colours so this palettes packaging is gorgeous to me… I believe these are similar (if not dupes) to the Too Faced palette packaging and it’s also kinda giving me Kylie Cosmetics vibes with the drip detailing.

Then.. you open it! 😍 I truly love the size of the mirror. Often when I’m doing my makeup, I’ll use this mirror rather than mirrors in eyeshadow palettes – it’s such a perfect size! It’s also great for travel because of its size, and the mirror means that you don’t have to carry a compact mirror separate! It comes with two highlighting powders. My favourite is the pinky pearlescent shade – but it also comes with a super stunning gold shade.

A little product really goes a LONG way. Even swatching the powders, you can see just how pigmented they are. I’ve had this palette for two months or so now – and there’s still loads of product left! I often use this highlighter palette over my MAC Soft and Gentle and my Colourpop Flexitarian. It’s really THAT good. So if you’re looking for some products but you have a tight budget, I really urge you to try this out.

The palette retails at £6. Only 6 smackaroonies for super crazy pigment!! I will definitely be repurchasing this when I eventually run out because it’s my holy grail highlight.

Nip + Fab Concealer & Revolution Supersize Conceal + Define

Wow. I always find with concealers there is something I don’t like about them – whether it be the formula, texture, finish or the shade. However, after using both of these concealers, I am in LURRRVE. I like pretty pale concealers. I never seem to get an exact match but that’s my preference anyway. I love a hella light concealer😂 I use both of these concealers to highlight my brows, under my eyes and anywhere I might need to pop a bit of it.

I’m a sucker for cute packaging too – so the Revolution metallic pinky/rose gold colour wins me over as well as the gorgeous formula. I really love the simplicity of the Nip + Fab concealer too! I bought it on my birthday when I went shopping and I’ve used it every time I’ve done my makeup since then.

My shades are 01 in the Nip + Fab concealer and C1 in the Revolution one. I feel like the Nip + Fab one is a pretty good colour match for me anyway, in the sense that it isn’t too light but it’s definitely not dark for my skin tone. I also love the colour match of the Revolution concealer too. For reference, I am usually a NC15 in MAC makeup, a 1N1 in Estée Lauder Double Wear and I wear F2 in the Revolution Pro Foundation Drops. The Revolution concealer retails at only £7 and the Nip + Fab concealer retails at £9.95 – which is definitely a little pricey if you’re used to the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, however it’s totally worth the extra money.

Revolution Pro Prime & Hydrate

This is pretty much my go-to primer. I think I’ve been using this for about two months now and I’m in love with it. This primer retails at £7 which is a good price considering your face base is super important. I’ve used primers such as Benefit Porefessional and Kat Von D’s Lock it Hydrating Primer and I think this is a good cheaper alternative! Not a dupe, but definitely a really good product if you’re looking for a change in your primer. I have combination skin and I find this works for me both on my drier days and my more oily days.

I love the packaging, mainly because it’s simple but still looks pretty expensive. The primer itself smells like coconut – usually that’s a scent I absolutely hate but it’s not overpowering. It’s a pretty subtle smell and completely bearable.

I also love the fact it comes with a pump. A lot of primers I’ve tried before just come in a tube which you squeeze, which can often lead to too much product coming out and then I find myself running out quicker! This primer is easy to pump out, easy to apply and overall makes my skin feel so nice and smooth. It’s not at all heavy, whereas I find with the porefessional it sometimes feels that way. If you’re on the hunt for a new, cheap primer that does the job well – look no further!!

Revolution Pro Foundation Drops

I tend to use mainly high-end foundations, just because I struggle to find a drugstore foundation that gives me the coverage and lasting power I want. I heard a lot of good things about the foundation drops so I wanted to try them out. I’d never used a foundation with a pipette before – which is a brilliant concept may I add!! Now, the packaging is cute. I love it. It’s not too big nor too small and fits nicely in my storage. The foundation is super easy to use because you just use the pipette to apply it. I like to put it on my cheeks, forehead, chin and nose and then blend out. It never feels cakey, it blends super easily and leaves me with a really good base.

On the Revolution Beauty website, it states that this foundation is silky and breathable and I would completely agree with that. I don’t feel like I have a super heavy face base on when I wear this. It also says it’s buildable, which is completely true. The less coverage you want, the less you use. I build it up so it’s the coverage best suited for me. I personally feel that it’s full coverage but it says when built up it leaves you with a medium coverage base. The formula is lightweight as I believe it’s water-based. If you’re a lover of thicker foundations then this probably isn’t for you but if you’re looking to try a new foundation and you’re not too worried about a specific formula – please try this out!

I wear the shade F4. F4 is recommend for light skin tones with neutral undertones. I tend to go for golden undertones as my skin definitely has a yellow tinge… but this suits me fabulously! Here is the foundation colour match list, if you’re considering checking it out.

This is easily one of my top 3 foundations and the best thing is it’s cheap! Retailing at only £7, I will definitely be repurchasing this one.

Revolution Pro Supreme Black Flick Liner

I very briefly mentioned this product on my Instagram, but it has become a huge favourite of mine so it definitely needs to be talked about again!

I’ve been a lover of eyeliner for years now. I’ve worn it since I was around twelve years old, starting with them awkward Kohl liners and then moving onto the Rimmel Exaggerate Liner for quite some time. When I was 16 I started to lean more towards liners in pen form – because trust me, it’s a hell of a lot easier! 😂 I’m also really quite picky when it comes to eyeliners. I don’t even know how to explain what I look for in a liner – but it has to be almost perfect for me. I wore the Kat Von D tattoo liner for about a year and I really liked that one, but if you’ve ever bought it yourself you’ll know that it’s not exactly cheap. Especially if you’re wearing liner frequently, you run out and you have to splurge on getting a new one.. Not ideal if you’re a beauty lover and want to spend your money on multiple products!! I found this liner on my birthday and I’ve well and truly fallen in love with it. It’s super easy to use, the tip isn’t too thick or too thin and flimsy, it’s a pretty perfect size. The formula is fab too, it glides on super easily and doesn’t flake when it’s dried. If you’re not too confident at applying liner, stick some tape on and flick it out that way – I still find myself using this trick now! It’s actually the liner I used in my recent glossybox instagram post too. It looks beautiful, feels beautiful and is now my absolute holy grail liner. The best thing is that this liner only costs £4!!! 4 FLIPPING POUNDS PEOPLE!! Compared to spending £16-17 on one Kat Von D liner – why wouldn’t you!? You could stock up on four of these for the same price as one high-end liner. If you’re a lover of high-end liners but are sick of splashing the cash for a good product, I really urge you to purchase this. You won’t regret it at all. I was sceptical at first just because of how cheap it was, but I’m so glad I made this purchase.

Revolution Soph Nude Lipstick

If you’ve already used this lipstick, then you’ll know just how flipping pretty it really is. But, if you’re a lover of a nude lip and you haven’t tried this already – you really should. Not only does the packaging look super cute, the lipstick itself is a super gorg colour. This lipstick is in the shade “Cake”. It’s not often that I opt for a pinky nude, I often find they don’t suit my skin tone too well – but I absolutely love how this lipstick looks on me and against my skin tone. It’s a super creamy formula, easy to apply and actually has a pretty remarkable lasting power. I also love the cute engraved “Soph x” on the lipstick itself, it’s just a sweet touch.

You can see from the swatch just how pigmented and gorgeous the colour is. This lipstick retails at only £4 too!! I love my MAC Velvet Teddy but I also love a bargain, so I think I’ve well and truly converted to using this from now on. Seriously, check out this collection! There’s three nudes to choose from – a brown nude, a chocolate brown nude and this gorg pink nude. You’re guaranteed to find a shade that matches you perfectly.

SO,

If you’re fed up of spending all your dollaaaa on high-end makeup, you should check out these products. I am so glad I’ve found them and it really just goes to show that you don’t have to spend a bomb, to look bomb 😉

I can’t wait to try out more drugstore beauty products and find some new holy grail products.

Do you have any products from the drugstore you can’t live without? I’d love to know so I can test them out. Leave a comment or message me on Instagram and let me know! 🖤

Thanks for reading, and until next time my darlings..

Love Beth xxx
